Island Beginnings

This is my main storyline that has its beginning on the island of Galveston, Texas. The stories start in 1998 and continue chronologically, following the lives of our beloved Bob-Whites of the Glen and some newcomers, the Thomason family and those who are closest to them. Though I try to write about all of the B.W.G.s, some of them don’t ‘speak’ to me as much as others. These stories sometimes take place in Texas and sometimes in Sleepyside, with occasional trips elsewhere.

I’ve grouped the stories into “Present” and “Future” and have broken those down into specific years so that it will, hopefully, be easier to manage!

1998

1999

  • "Fallen" It's the first anniversary for Marcus and Julie. Join them for a fateful date. Warning: Extreme emotional content and explicit underage sex.

  • "Fallen Epilogue" Chaos can be a good thing, especially when friends are there to support you. Red star for mature teen discussions.

  • "Spring Fling" The emotions of a teenager in love can be confusing, frightening and exhilarating, all at the same time. Come dance with Trixie and Jim after the Sleepyside Jr/Sr High Spring Fling. Red star for teen sexual situations

  • It's almost time for Jim to go away to college. Will it all be just fun and games between Jim and Trixie? Join them in the Wheeler's game preserve for "Preserve Games". Rated red star for sexual situations.

  • Jim and Brian have gone away to college leaving Trixie at loose ends. Will she pine away over him or have a little harmless fun? Come find out as Trixie gets "Caught in a Tad of a Web". Rated yellow star for suggestive situations.

  • Let Them Eat Cake Jim wants cake. Can he have it and eat it, too?

  • A New Beginning Rough times hit for Steven and Julie making it hard for Trixie to be so far away from them. Join me as we eavesdrop on a Chaos session, and then on a ride through the preserve on a cool September morning. Rated Jix red star for crude teen humor.

  • Pull up a chair and join the Bob-Whites and the Thomason Trio as they chat the night away in the "Bob-White Asylum, Take Two".

  • Letters All Around, Part 2 The letters are flying again between Sleepyside and Galveston, and now New York City, too. The letters overlap "A New Beginning" and "Bob-White Asylum, Take 2". Read on and find out how Jim is really feeling, how Trixie's really handling it, and where does Dan fit into all of it? Also, get a parent's perspective (finally!)

  • A Tennessee Christmas, Chapter One The first of a multipart story starring Regan and Dan. Travel along with them as they spend Christmas in Tennessee.

2000

  • Daylilies It's springtime in Galveston! Elsie and Julie are working together in the garden, sharing some stories and renewing their relationship somewhat. But, it's also date night, and time for a little more Chaos. Come see what's new, and if anything has changed for our girl in Galveston. The first part is rated purple for mild teen sexual suggestions. The second part is red star for suggestions of violence, so you'll need the magic words.

  • Danny Angel It's Trixie's birthday and Dan's gift of trust means far more to her than any bauble. Rated yellow star for drug, alcohol and sexual references.

  • Things are getting out of hand with Julie and Marcus. Parental involvement is desperately needed! Rated red star for language and suggestions of sex.
  • It's summertime in Sleepyside and Dan's Roadblocks are rapidly disappearing. Rated red star for language and suggestions of sex.

2001

  • Beginnings and Endings Welcome to 2001! As in real life, this year will be filled with changes for the B.W.G.s and the Galveston crew. Read over Dan's and Julie's shoulders as they share burdens and a few laughs. The intro is blue star, but the story is red for language and emotional content.
  • Summer Snippets - Hold on to your hats, it's going to be a busy summer! Summer Snippets is just what the title implies... snippets of stories that will take you through the summer of 2001 in Sleepyside, New York City, and Galveston, with a few stops along the way at summer camp and Rosewood Hall. Rated JIX yellow star for mild sexual situations.
  • Spiraling and Epilogue - Relationships are spiraling out of control. Rated red star for mature subjects.

  • A Change in Direction - Everyone is touched in one way or another by the events of September 11, 2001. The Bob-Whites find themselves in need of A Change in Direction. Rated red star for mature subjects.
  • Clearing the Air - It's time for a meeting of minds, three in particular. Trixie and Dan see Jim for their first, face-to-face meeting since 9-11. Rated red star for mature subjects.
  • "Happy Birthday, Baby!" celebrates the birthdays of Steven, Dane and Julie. Join them, and their families, as they reminisce about the past together. Rated blue star for all to enjoy.
  • Weathering The Storm A storm blows into Galveston giving Julie and Steven some things to think about. Rated Purple Star for a couple of touchy subjects.
  • Autumn Reflections It's a beautiful autumn day and the Bob-Whites, Julie and Steven are all in a reflective mood. The past holds memories, both good and bad, for each of them. What will their futures hold? Rated Red Star
  • Goodies After a long day of working at the restaurant, the only thing Julie wants to do is slip into her comfortable clothes and relax. Imagine her delight when she opens a care package from someone special! Rated purple star for sensitive subject matter.
  • Back to Basics It's Christmastime in Sleepyside and all the Bob-Whites are pitching in to raise funds for a family in need. Come join the fun as they get back to the basics and remember why they started the B.W.G.s in the first place. Rated blue star for all to enjoy.

  • Blue New Year - It's the holiday season in Galveston but the crew is far from jolly. Rated red star for sex, language and emotional content.
  • All Because of a Little Stick - Julie and Steven are still having a rough time after the unexpected happenings on New Year's day. Times are about to get a bit more interesting as they journey off the island for an afternoon shopping trip. Rated red star for mature subjects and some language.
  • Hurt - Julie and Steven participate in their final choir trip. Password protected for sensitive story line, rated Jix yellow star for emotional content.
  • The Journey - The long journey to Sleepyside begins for Julie and Steven. Rated Jix yellow star for emotional content and language.
